How to Transfer a Domain from GoDaddy to Spaceship

Before you start

Confirm the domain is eligible to transfer, verify the registrant email, and make sure you can access both registrar accounts.

Prepare the domain

Disable any applicable transfer lock, obtain the authorization code, and save your existing DNS records or nameserver settings.

Start the transfer

Initiate the transfer at the destination registrar and follow the approval steps sent by the registrars. Do not change DNS unnecessarily during the move.

After completion

Verify nameservers, DNS, email and website operation. For a large portfolio, move a small group first and confirm the workflow before transferring the rest.
